Calcite is a hobby operating system that I have recently started working on. It is named after the mineral that appears in chalk. As I work on the project, I will post status updates here.
I understand that there are some "operating system tutorials" online. I do not intend this to be a tutorial of any kind.
Another warning: I do not have much formal training in computer science. I hold a BS and an MS in mathematics and I am currently working toward a PhD in mathematics. As part of these, I have taken three computer science classes: an undergraduate intro class, a graduate parallel computing class, and a graduate data structures class. Outside of that, I am self-taught, so there is a good chance that I will not see the ideal way to do something, and will use a less ideal way instead.
